Call for Applications: Rise Up Together Launches Leadership & Advocacy Program in Kenya

Rise Up Together is recruiting civil society leaders in Kenya for our 2026 Leadership and Advocacy Accelerator.

Global nonprofit Rise Up Together will select a group of 25 local civil society leaders from Kenya to participate in our Leadership and Advocacy Accelerator training program to advance gender equity and justice from November 2-7, 2026. Our 2026 Kenya cohort will have a particular focus on advancing gender equity in education and supporting local leaders working to improve educational opportunities and outcomes in their communities.

Visionary leaders (minimum 18 years of age at the time of the training in November 2026) who are based in Kajiado, Narok, Machakos, Makueni, Kiambu, and/or Nairobi Counties are eligible to apply.

Newly selected leaders in Kenya will join our network of over 1,080 leaders who have successfully advocated for over 246 new and improved laws, policies, and programs, positively impacting more than 251 million people globally (as of 2025).

Following the Accelerator, Rise Up Leaders have the opportunity to apply for competitive seed funding to launch advocacy strategies to advance gender equity in education across Kenya.

  • Application Deadline: July 19, 2026
  • Leadership and Advocacy Accelerator: November 2-7, 2026

Rise Up Together has developed an innovative hybrid — virtual and in-person — model that integrates intensive capacity building, leadership development, project funding, and technical support to ensure that leaders can launch advocacy strategies to advance education for women, girls, and gender-nonconforming people in Kenya.
