Camille has a background in nonprofit communications, community activism, and journalism. Before joining Rise Up, she was the Network Engagement Manager at Voices for Civil Justice in Washington D.C., where she helped build the communications and media skills of a national network of civil legal aid attorneys and advocates. She also served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA at a domestic violence shelter in rural Oregon and has written about social justice issues for publications in the U.S. and the U.K.
She has been an advocate for the rights of women and girls since she was a high school student in Indiana. Camille has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University and a master’s degree in U.S. History from Wayne State University in Detroit, where she completed a thesis focused on reproductive rights and sex education. In her spare time, she likes cooking, reading, watching television, and exploring beautiful California.
