Chantal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Vassar College and Master’s degrees in Public Health and City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. Passionate about gender equity, public health and advocacy, Chantal served as a Peace Corps volunteer for three years in Burkina Faso where she focused on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, building the capacity of youth educators, and community mobilization. Since then, she has worked closely with a number of international NGOs, academics, local organizations and urban poor communities to support women and girls as they advocate for basic rights and services. Chantal first joined the Rise Up team in 2014 as an intern and currently serves as a Program Coordinator. Her responsibilities focus on supporting the implementation of Rise Up’s work in Sub-Saharan Africa, including workshop planning, participant selection, providing technical assistance to grantees, and monitoring and evaluation. In her spare time, Chantal enjoys swimming, hiking and dancing.
