Future Education Coordinator, Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO)
Mary is a dedicated advocate and coordinator at the Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO’s) Education Program, specializing in support for SHOFCO graduates. Her focus is on nurturing leadership, building resilience, and providing essential psychosocial support.
Mary’s deep passion lies in working with young adolescents and advocating for equal opportunities. She firmly believes in mentorship as a tool to empower young individuals, helping them recognize their potential as change-makers. Her ultimate mission is to inspire innovative solutions to address pressing challenges, aiming for long-lasting impacts in communities and beyond.
Beyond her role at SHOFCO, Mary actively engages with the Kibera and Mathare communities. She serves as a youth peer educator and advocate in these communities, representing and training community members. Her previous role as a leader in the Comprehensive Sexuality Education for Empowering Girls (C-SEEG) project from 2013 to 2016 demonstrates her commitment to improving the lives of women and girls.
