Gender Policy Unit with Ahmadu Bello University

Timothy is the Program Officer with the Gender Policy Unit at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. In this role, he initiates programs and partners with the Gender Policy Unit Director and team members to formulate and advocate for policies which promote and increase women’s and girls’ self-reliance and access to local governance. Timothy has over 15 years of experience working on development and community mobilization through various national initiatives and local organizations, such as the Theatre for Development Centre (TFDC), YMCA, and the Peace and Love Initiative. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and is currently working on  a Master’s degree in Development Communication and postgraduate degree in Policy and Development Studies at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria. He is dedicated to gender equity and ensuring women and girls no longer have to face discrimination and have full access to their basic human rights.
