Abubakar is a program associate for the African Center for Education Development (CLEDA-Africa) and is passionate about girls empowerment and education. Abubakar led the implementation of the Arewa Girls Forum Safe Space Project, which was designed to support vulnerable and marginalized girls in Northern Nigeria experiencing challenges in education and development due to poverty, cultural norms and practices, poor infrastructure, and insecurity. His vision is to see a world where access to quality education and opportunities for women and girls is a priority. 

Abubakar holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and is completing a master’s degree in environmental biology at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a professionally trained teacher with Kaduna State Teachers Service Board and a certified international project management professional.
