BECOME A RISE UP LEADER

Since 2009, Rise Up’s powerful global network of more than 750 leaders has advocated for more than 120 laws and policies impacting 135 million people in Africa, Latin America, South Asia, and the United States.

The local leaders Rise Up supports are women, girls and allies who are advocating for change in their own communities. These innovative and determined leaders have years of experience supporting their communities in the areas of education, economic opportunities, and health, and organizing for change with and for women, girls and gender-non-conforming people.

Rise Up has a rigorous application process to find the most promising local leaders who are advancing gender equity and justice. We select regional cohorts of leaders who embark on a multi-year journey with Rise Up to strengthen their leadership, organizing, and technical skills. We work closely with our in-country staff and partners to reach promising and effective leaders who are looking to further develop their leadership, learn more effective ways to organize for change, and the funding support to try out new ideas.
