Avali Khare

Avali (they/them) is currently leading The YP Foundation’s queer rights work in India. Their work has focused on developing comprehensive sexuality education in school and community settings, and engaging with young men in urban spaces to create dialogues and actions that question masculine norms. They were selected as a panelist at the Family Planning 2030 plenary session at the International Conference on Family Planning in 2022. They have also been a student activist, serving as the sixth co-convenor of a student-led queer collective at Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) and the coordinator of the longest running student-led gender forum at Delhi University (DU). Avali has a master’s degree in gender studies from AUD and a bachelor’s degree in english literature from DU.
