Bella Akhagba
Bella Foundation for Child and Maternal Care
Bella is the Founder and CEO of the Bella Foundation for Child and Maternal Care. With over 17 years of experience in the development sector, she has worked with both national and international organizations, including the Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria as a Program Officer and the World Bank as a Gender Vulnerability Specialist. In her work on a USAID funded project, she advocated to improve the health and education of young people and women to reduce maternal death, while also increasing enrollment in schools in Lagos, Nigeria. She also has served as a technical facilitator on maternal, newborn, and child health, has written a number of articles, and led presentations at international workshops and conferences around gender issues in Nigeria. Bella holds degrees in Nursing/Midwifery and Human Resources Management.
