Berta Cumez Garcia is a project coordinator for the Ixpiyakik Women’s Association (ADEMI), which works to improve the lives of low-income Mayan women through health, education and microfinance programs in Chimaltenango.  She is dedicated to serving marginalized populations, especially Mayan women.  She has been working with low-resource Mayan women improve their situation through education, health, and micro-credit programs for over ten years.
