Founder and President, Betty Adera Foundation
As Founder and President of Betty Adera Foundation International, a women-led charity organization in Kenya and Tanzania, Betty is the voice for the prevention and mitigation of all forms of gender-based violence and discrimination against women and girls.
Betty has received numerous awards for her exceptional leadership, most notably the Humanitarian Medal of Honor 2019 by the World Peace and Diplomacy Organization, the Global ICON 2019 Award by Passion Vista, and most recently, the Outstanding Women’s Voice by Humanitarian Awards Global 2023.
Betty holds a Master of Science Degree in Global Public Health from the University of Western Cape, South Africa, and a post-graduate diploma in Children, Youth, and Development from the Institute of Social Studies at the University of Erasmus in the Hague, Netherlands. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral studies in Global Public Health at EUCLID University.
