Executive Director, Husisha Initiative

Charles Chege is a visual artist, storyteller, and the Executive Director of Husisha Initiative, a Kenyan NGO which he founded in 2018. He uses partnerships, storytelling, and expertise to empower marginalized communities and craft impactful content. His “Utata Comics” series reaches over 60,000 youth monthly, driving awareness on girls’ rights and harmful gender norms. Charles champions marginalized communities’ rights at international forums, including the World Forum for Democracy, and was recognized with the Creative Award from Transparency International Kenya and as second runner-up in the UNDP Accelerator Lab. Charles holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Nairobi.
