
President of the Civil Association, Voz y Dignidad por los Nuestros SLP
Edith Pérez Rodríguez is a mother searching for her missing loved ones and a human rights defender. Her activism emerged from the enforced disappearance of family members, leading her to dedicate her life to supporting, advising, and defending affected families, particularly young people and children. Eddy is the founder and director of Voz y Dignidad por los Nuestros SLP, a collective recognized at both the state and national levels.
A graduate in Primary Education from the National Pedagogical University, Eddy has 31 years of teaching experience. After retiring, she became a full-time human rights advocate, supporting more than 500 families through legal guidance, institutional engagement, and community strengthening. Her work was instrumental in the creation of a Specialized Unit for the Search for Disappeared Persons and a Public Prosecutor’s Office in the Huasteca region. Eddy’s advocacy is grounded in compassion, dignity, and persistence.
