Eréndira I. Bárcena Vital is an internationalist experienced in mobilizing emotions and fostering imagination to construct counter-hegemonic narratives around collective human rights and the rights of Nature. Eréndira has collaborated with the Mexican federal government, promoting critical and sensitive thinking to rethink cultural policies and diplomatic practices. For four years, Eréndira has worked with Educación y Ciudadanía, A.C., leading projects that create spaces for women, gender and sexual minorities, and their communities to strengthen autonomy and agency, aiming to emancipate life as a political horizon and influence policies protecting journalists and human rights defenders. Eréndira holds a master’s degree in Human Rights from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, graduating with honors.
