Program Manager, Canada Mathare Education Trust (CMETrust)

Esther Njenga is an education and gender equality champion, She serves as the Program Manager at Canada-Mathare Education Trust (CMETrust), an organization working to advance education in Kenya one child at a time, where she manages a scholarship program that supports high-achieving, low-income scholars from Mathare slums with high school and post-secondary school education. She also manages the Wezesha Kike! Project that empowers girls and women of the Mathare slums through gender equitable education.

Esther holds a Bachelors of Arts in sociology from Moi University, and is passionate about empowering youths – specifically girls and women as a contribution to an equitable society. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, cooking, trying out new recipes, and watching documentaries.
