Fátima Hernández Alvizo is a lawyer, activist, and human rights defender in Mexico. She is a founding partner of Lúminas Centro de Derechos Humanos, where she designs and coordinates advocacy, training, and strategic litigation projects in support of the rights of women, girls, and historically excluded populations. Fátima holds a law degree, a master’s degree in Human Rights and Democracy from FLACSO Mexico, and is pursuing a doctorate in law specializing in human rights at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She has received training in gender parity and affirmative action, gender-sensitive public policy, and support for victims of violence. She works on developing feminist agendas, strengthening women’s leadership, and promoting the enforceability of rights from both civil society and institutional spaces.
