Fatima Shaik

Helpline Manager, The Black Sash Trust

Fatima Shaik is a social worker, human rights advocate, and nonprofit leader with nearly three decades of experience in the social development sector. She serves as Executive Director of People Opposing Women Abuse, where she leads strategic initiatives addressing gender-based violence and supporting survivors. Fatima is a registered social worker with postgraduate qualifications in psychology, criminology, human resource management, and HIV/AIDS management. She is currently completing a Master’s in Clinical Social Work at the University of Johannesburg. Her work is grounded in advancing social justice, strengthening support systems, and promoting the rights and dignity of women and vulnerable communities.
