Executive Director, COMMUNI T

Ithiopia is a pioneering advocate for peer support, healthcare equity, social justice, and empathetic care. As a Black immigrant woman, Ithiopia’s journey is marked by resilience and a deep commitment to transforming the healthcare landscape for marginalized and underserved communities. Her personal experiences of domestic violence during pregnancy led to profound challenges, including housing insecurity, mental trauma, and healthcare inequity. These adversities illuminated the systemic gaps in care and support that many individuals in similar situations face. Fueled by her own journey and driven by a vision for change, Ithiopia founded O Community Doulas and the CommuniT App. These initiatives are dedicated to ensuring healthcare equity and providing continuous care for individuals and families navigating similar challenges. Through her leadership, Ithiopia continues to inspire and mobilize communities, advocating for a future where everyone has access to the care and support they deserve.
