Maira is Program Coordinator for the National Cross-Cutting Youth and Adolescents program of the Guatemala Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) and is an active participant in the development of the National Reproductive Health program. She serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the National Commission on Childhood and Adolescents. Maira is a medical doctor, surgeon, and graduate of the University of San Carlos.
