María is passionate about women participating in politics. She is a lawyer and founder of Santa María de Lourdes, an organization which promotes women’s involvement in decision making spaces, enabling their empowerment and the inclusion of a gender perspective in governmental planning and development. María has training in gender and human rights and is also a specialist in women’s political rights in San Luis Potosí with experience advocating for legislative proposals.
