Maria del Carmen is a passionate defender of women’s human rights. As a lawyer and graduate from the UNAH, she currently works as Regional delegate for the University Commission at CURLA, where she also coordinates the local violence observatory. She is an active member of the Network against violence towards women at La Ceiba.  Maria has a Master’s degree in Labor and is studying for her doctorate in Education.
