María Teresa is an economist and human rights advocate with a focus on gender equality in San Luis Potosí. Her work includes collaborations with the United Nations and European Union, where she has coordinated local programs to improve the conditions of vulnerable women and girls. Specialized in formulating and evaluating socio economic projects, María Teresa has worked on issues such as obstetric violence, agricultural labor exploitation, access to information for indigenous communities, labor integration of refugees, domestic workers’ rights, and the eradication of child labor. With over 30 years as a university professor, she promotes empowerment and labor equality through effective public resource management and the promotion of good social practices.
