Marília Moreira da Silva

Marília is a Black woman, journalist, and the director of operations at the AzMina Institute, a nonprofit organization that uses information, technology, and education to combat gender inequality. Marília believes that quality information saves lives and she defends communication as a right, which is capable of giving access to full citizenship. For two years, she managed “PenhaS,” the AzMina Institute’s app to combat domestic violence, which has already served more than 12,000 Brazilian women. Marília holds a master’s degree in contemporary communication and culture from the Federal University of Bahia.
