Muna Onuzo

Foundation for Women in Film & Television in Nigeria

Despite having the privilege of growing up in a middle class home with access to quality education, Muna recognized the plight of her peers who did not have access to education, fell pregnant before the age of 18, or were forced into early marriage, and she decided she wanted to do something to improve their situation. Today, Muna is the President of Women in Film and Television in Nigeria (WIFTIN), an international NGO dedicated to increasing opportunities for women and girls in the film and television industry across the globe.  WIFTIN recently launched the “Pearls and Purpose” initiative to educate and promote business acumen, personal branding, and financial literacy for all women and youth in Nigeria. Muna is an award winning financial literacy advocate for women with years of experience mentoring, coaching, and training over 2,000 individuals on enterprise, skill acquisition, digital training, leadership, and etiquette in business. Due to her passion and dedication, Muna was honored as the “Most Influential Young Nigerian in Social Enterprise” in 2016 and 2017 and is ranked as one of the “100 most Influential Young Africans.”
