The Rise Up team gathered in San Francisco, California in October for a fruitful and fulfilling global planning retreat. This year’s retreat theme was “Rise Up, Higher” and our objectives were clear: to deepen relationships across the organization, build on our collective knowledge and skills, and develop a strategic roadmap for the upcoming year. We welcomed colleagues from across the U.S., India, Kenya, Nigeria, and Mexico and spent meaningful time with one another.

This retreat was particularly special as 2024 marks Rise Up’s 15th anniversary of creating transformational change around the world for women, girls, and gender-nonconforming people. Our team took time to reflect on our journey and celebrate the progress we’ve made with cake, a festive piñata, and birthday songs from our diverse cultures – a true reflection of Rise Up’s global community. We left the retreat feeling rejuvenated and recommitted to our work of partnering with women, girls, and allies to create a better future for all. Onward!
