Patricia Elizabeth Cossío Torres

Patricia Elizabeth Cossío Torres is a professor and researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, whose work focuses on raising awareness of the sexual, reproductive, and psychosocial vulnerabilities faced by women in vulnerable contexts in Mexico, as well as developing community intervention strategies based on promoting empowerment and resilience. She is committed to fostering social transformation in the communities where girls and women live through programs focused on sexual and reproductive rights and building violence-free environments by strengthening protective factors and resilience.

Patricia holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a master’s degree in public health, and a doctorate in environmental sciences. She is part of collaborative networks of women researchers in India, South Korea, and the United States, is a member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico, and leads the Public Health Academic Group at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí.
