Generation Equality Commitment Progress

Rise Up is featured in the Generation Equality Accountability Report, 2024.

Rise Up is proud to be a Commitment Maker in Generation Equality, a multi-stakeholder initiative convened by UN Women to accelerate progress toward gender equality and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Rise Up’s commitment and the actions we are taking to promote feminist movements and leadership in India were featured in the latest Generation Equality Accountability Report published in November 2024.

The report states on page 67, “ For example, in Rajasthan, India, Rise Up empowered 24 leaders who trained and mobilized 2,326 girls to advocate for their rights, engaging over 63,036 community members and achieving eight significant programmatic initiatives. These efforts led to structural improvements in girls’ education and rights, impacting 955,263 people. Notable achievements include protecting 211,621 adolescents from GBV and early marriage in Rajsamand District of Rajasthan, India.”

We are so proud of these remarkable advancements and know that we have very far left to go to achieve gender equality. We will continue to contribute in meaningful ways to this platform for collective action, solidarity, and large-scale investments for gender equality and strengthening the rights of women and girls.
