Rethabile is dedicated to uplifting and empowering disadvantaged and marginalized girls and women in South Africa. For the past 10 years, Rethabile worked in the NGO sector coordinating and managing projects focused on issues such as HIV/AIDS, children living with learning disabilities, programs aimed to empower adolescent girls in South Africa, as well as human rights and sexual and reproductive health and rights for key populations. She has also worked as a Theatre Arts lecturer at the National University of Lesotho. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Theatre Arts Studies from the National University of Lesotho. She also holds a Master of Arts in Community Development and an Honors Degree in Applied Drama: Theatre in Education, Communities and Social Contexts from Witwatersrand University in South Africa.

As Rise Up’s South Africa Program Coordinator, Rethabile hopes to contribute to building a future where all children, adolescent girls and young women have the confidence, skills, and support to lead fulfilling lives and contribute positively to their communities.
