Shaatirah Baboo Hassim is a Senior Attorney at the Legal Resources Centre (LRC), where she oversees a team of attorneys and candidate attorneys at the Johannesburg office. She also serves as the facilitator of the Candidate Attorney Program. Shatirah is deeply passionate about the LRC’s work, particularly in the area of education – an essential focus in empowering learners to understand and exercise their constitutional rights. Her interests also extend to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), where she is committed to advancing fairness, equality, and justice for women and girls. Through her work, Shatirah aims to influence laws, policies, and decision-making processes that shape a more just and equitable society for all.
