Chief Equity and Transformational Change Officer, When Everyone Acts Violence Ends (WEAVE)

Timiza is a collaborative leader, community curator, and natural storyteller. In her current role, she builds staff capacity around social justice issues and creates sustainable structures to advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). She oversees an annual, ongoing comprehensive onboarding process for all staff members, which she developed and implemented. Leading with an equitable lens, she is empowered to influence outcomes for the un/underserved communities. She is especially passionate about progressing racial equity for Black women and girls. Timiza is a board member and chair of the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce, vice chair for the Sacramento County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, and serves as the secretary for the non-profit Borne to Create. Timiza has a Master’s degree in Higher Education with an emphasis on Educational Leadership.
