Tyler Harden

United States – Mississippi

Tyler sees the barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in her community and wants to create a space that centers Black femme in Mississippi as leaders, allowing them to control the narrative of their sexual and reproductive health. She works for Planned Parenthood Southeast and is creating a platform to elevate and showcase Black femme voices in Mississippi.

Fiscal Sponsor: Planned Parenthood Southeast

Project Title: Missbehaving

The goal of the project is to increase knowledge of sexual reproductive health and rights and access to health services within Black communities in Mississippi by creating and disseminating inclusive and culturally relevant information about sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice (SRHRJ) and building trust with medical service providers. Tyler will develop Missbehaving, a card game to start conversations about creating trust and address misinformation about SRHRJ, using references to popular culture. Missbehaving will resemble popular card games like Cards Against Humanity and For the Culture. Tyler will test and implement the game with people of color-led organizations, communities of color, and students at local universities. After launching as a pilot project, Missbehaving is intended to become a permanent part of Planned Parenthood’s outreach materials to youth in communities of color.
