Diego Mejía Calel

Diego is Technical Coordinator for Children’s Hope Foundation (CHILDHOPE) in Guatemala City. He works towards eliminating child labor in Guatemala and to promote adolescent sexual and reproductive health. He belongs to the K’iche’ Mayan ethnic group. Diego is currently obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Social Sciences at the Mariano Galvez University of Guatemala.

Dora Alonzo

She is an Educational Facilitator for the Asociación IDEI in Quetzaltenango. She belongs to the K’iche’ Maya ethnic group. Dora received a teaching degree in 2010, and is currently studying law at the University of San Carlos.

Edith Janeth Revolorio

Edith is a Social Worker at the Psychosocial Care Center of CONACMI in Guatemala City, which focuses on treatment and prevention of child abuse.  She is also a member of Young Christian Workers of America-JOCA. Edith has a degree in Social Work with emphasis on development management, a degree in Politics and Citizenship Education and a diploma in Christian Spirituality.

Eunice Ramirez

Eunice is the Communications Coordinator for Association for Human Development Center in Quetzaltenango. She is the founder of Allied Youth Kan, a young women’s group advocating for sexual and reproductive rights in the township of Olintepeque. Eva Patricia Chuc Choxom

Eva works for the Association for Community Development (ACPDC) promoting sexual and reproductive health and advocating on behalf of adolescent girls in rural indigenous communities in Totonicapán. She is currently working on a program that would improve access to health and education for indigenous adolescent girls. Eva was a 2009 GOJoven Fellow.

Gladys Fabiola Leiva

Gladys is facilitator for the New Horizons Association where she provides comprehensive information and training to women’s groups, educational establishments, and youth groups about their human rights.

José Coti

Jose is a Program Manager with the Community Health Service Association in Quetzaltenango. Gilberto Escobar Reyes

Gilberto works with the Quetzaltenango organization of traditional midwives where he supports the midwifery school. He has worked in HIV prevention and education, as well as with people with disabilities using popular education techniques. He has been active in community mobilization and development, as well as local policy advocacy. Gilberto is also a 2009 GOJoven Fellow.

Manuela García Pu

Manuela is a consultant for various organizations in Guatemala, including Medicus Mundi and the Association for Community Development. She is also a GOJoven and a Ford Foundation Fellow. She received her Master’s Degree in International Humanitarian Aid from the University of Deusto in Spain.

Marvin Raúl Vázquez

Marvin is Social Worker who is focused on development management, child labor prevention, and youth citizen participation. He is a lecturer at Rafael Landivar University in Quetzaltenango.
